Ross Voorhess ('70) Finds Our Blog!

I was getting organized for my Sarum June 2010 40th reunion when I came across a letter from Chris Janelli about your class of ’69 & ’70 blog. So I thought I would drop you a note to say hello, and send you some news for the blog, if you are still organizing it.

I attended our ‘35th reunion and had a great time. It was wonderful to see so many in the class of ’70 that were able to make it back to that reunion. I don’t get back east very often, so it was amazing to see all the changes at the Salisbury campus that have taken place over the years. So in June 2010 I really look forward to touring the new Flood athletic facility. The school has come a long way since 1970!

I have lived in Denver for almost 30 years, and really enjoy the dry climate, even more so as I get older. I was a CPA doing financial accounting for private companies for a number of years, and now am on sabbatical/retired. I am not working right now, but may revisit that status in the future depending on how the economy/financial markets behave. Would welcome hearing from, or visiting with Salisbury folks passing through Denver, especially now while I have time on my hands.

I am divorced, and have been for a number of years. My younger son is 25 and works at a bank in Denver. He graduated from Cornell College (Mt. Vernon, IA) in 2007. I have attached a picture of him (a snowboarder) and me (a skier) at Keystone, CO in March 2010. My older boy is 30 and was the varsity baseball coach at the College of Santa Fe (NM). That college was a private school and unfortunately folded last year, after 130 years of continuous operation, a casualty of the Great Recession. He now coaches a high school baseball team and is an administrator at the high school.
